Biography- Lise
Born in Califonria, Lise began riding hunter seat equitation at 7 years. Within the following 6 years she won every available equitation finals in California. In the age of 16 she began catch riding as a professional junior rider for many professionals throughout the United States:
- Fairfield Hunt Club- Leslie Howard
- Plain Bay Farms- Katie Prudent
- Vintage Farm- Michael Matz
- Beacon Hill- Frank Madden and Bill Cooney
- Belcort Farm- Walter J Lee
Lise became a student of both J. Arthur Reynolds and Otis Brown aswell as Karen Healey in the equitation. By 17, 2nd place in the AHSA (usef) equitation medal finals, leading hunter rider at Harrisburg national final, Washington international, and Madison Square Gardens where also named best child rider and grand junior hunter champion.She finishing the year as small junior hunter USEF (AHSA) Horse of the year with "Like a Charm"...
Then Lise began as a professional rider in the east coast working for Belcort Stable and Beacon Hill, moving back to the west coast to finish educational studies, hired by Whippoorwill farms Mike edrick then accepted the head rider job for the northern CA stable Sutton Place owned and operated by Linda Hough.The partnership of Linda , Lise’ and owner Shana Johnstone garnered many championships over the years,leading rider awards at all of the top shows in the United States and multiple AHSA year end awards in many of the Hunter Divisions...
In the Jumper ring in the first year of competition :
- won many Grand Prixs
- USEF Rookie of the year
- qualified for the World Up finals
- won the West Coast Volvo World Cup League (won a car)
As the next step in Lise's riding career she joined the USET Equestrian Team and represented the team nationally and internationally at many venues including the CHIO Aachen, Germany, leading american rider in the Nations Cup and placed in the prestiges Aachen Grand Prix and Lakes class.
In the following year Lise returned back to the United states and became the #1 US rider on the computer list and Open Jumper Horse of the year. She qualified and competed in another 2 World Cup finals in Hertogenbosch/ Netherlands and Goetherborg/ Sweden....
Lise was long listed for 2 Olympic Games...
